Some time ago I uninstalled the facebook for woocommerce plug-in from my website, but I see that there is a directory left in:
    public_html/wp-content/uploads/facebook_for_woocommerce
    which contains three files:
    .htaccess
    index.html
    product_catalog_ad543b69887d496f11e8f7f13bb803ec.csv
and in the cron I see the tasks:
    facebook_for_woocommerce_hourly_heartbeat_cron
    facebook_for_woocommerce_daily_heartbeat_cron
These tasks don’t seem to run and this must all be junk left behind by uninstalling the plug-in.
I would like to know if I can delete the mentioned directory and if I can (and how I do) deactivate these two tasks.
    Thank you.

  • Hi @titowhisky

    Thanks for reaching out!

I understand that you would like to know if you can delete the leftover files and tasks from the Facebook for WooCommerce plugin upon uninstallation.

When you uninstall a plugin, it is possible that some files and scheduled tasks remain on your server. In this case, it appears that the facebook_for_woocommerce directory and its contents, as well as the two cron tasks, were not removed during the uninstallation process.

To safely delete the facebook_for_woocommerce directory and its contents, you can use an FTP client (like FileZilla) or your hosting control panel’s File Manager. Navigate to the public_html/wp-content/uploads/ directory, locate the facebook_for_woocommerce folder, and delete it.

To deactivate the two cron tasks, you can install the WP Crontrol plugin. Navigate to Tools > Cron Events in your WordPress dashboard. In the Cron Events list, locate the tasks facebook_for_woocommerce_hourly_heartbeat_cron and facebook_for_woocommerce_daily_heartbeat_cron, click Delete

    Hope this helps!
