Issue with Background Color on Menu

I am building a menu using the Elementor Header & Footer plugin and have set the Hover background color to be a slightly different shade than the background of the main menu. The text color is white.

The background color of the menu dropdown boxes is white and the text is black. The dropdown Hover uses the same background color as the main menu and the text changes from black to white.

Everything works well except for some reason the “Home Page” menu item remains highlighted (even when I hover over other items in the menu) and the text is black (instead of white). The following link is a screenshot of the issue

How do I fix the style problem with “Home Page”?
