Featured Image block is missing

A couple of months back a web developer built some things on the website. during all this there was a wordpress update. The featured image block went missing and they went and renabled the setting as it doesnt show up in the main settings. It has happened again and the featured Image block is missing from the post creation page. Can someone assist me on where I can go to fix this please so I can post my articles with the featured Image again.
