[NSFW] Apple Pay and Google Pay not working with Stripe

Hi Team,
We are a development team working for multiple clients. One of our clients is using Stripe as their payment gateway. We tried Google Pay and Apple Pay recently. it’s showing the buttons and is clickable. Once you click It will show a loader icon and disappear. We are not getting any error messages, it’s not charging from the card also it’s not redirecting to other pages.
When we check with the Stripe team they mentioned the issue with the plugin integration.

Currently, we disable the buttons because affecting the real payments. Could you confirm what could be the reason that those are not working?

Thanks for reaching out!

I understand that when you pay either via Google Pay or Apple Pay, nothing happens – no orders were placed, no errors occurred, correct?

On my personal site running on the default Storefront theme with Stripe Google Pay enabled, this is what I’m seeing on my end when I click Google Pay:

For us to investigate this further, can you please try to switch to the default Storefront theme and only WooCommerce plugin is enabled and see if this works?

If so, then this kind of problem is usually caused by your theme or a third-party plugin present on your site. We can run a conflict test to verify this. I’d recommend cloning your site to a staging environment and performing the tests described on this guide without modifying your live site or impacting customers. Many hosts provide staging facilities, so it’s worth checking in with them. It’s also possible to do it using the free WP Staging plugin.

If this was caused by a third-party plugin present on your site, it would be best to reach out to the developers for further assistance here.

If this did not resolve the issue, please share your System Status Report, that will help us further troubleshoot.

You can find it via WooCommerce > Status. Select Get system report and then Copy for support. Once you’ve done that, you can paste it into your reply here.

If you could also provide the fatal error logs (if any) under WooCommerce > Status > Logs.

As you requested we set up a staging website and went through the steps. We are still facing the same issue for Google/Apple Pay.

Current staging site only have the Woo Commerece plugins and Twenty Twentythree theme.

Can you please check again after updating the WooCommerce database? You can update it under WooCommerce > status > tools > update database.

I understand that even after updating WooCommerce database, the issue still exists.

I checked the staging site, added the test product to my cart, clicked Google Pay and this is what’s displaying on my end after registering an account (since this is a requirement):

I just can’t proceed with the purchase after this window.

Can you please confirm if you’re able to see the same screen above when clicking Google Pay on the staging site’s checkout page? If so, please share what happens next after clicking the Pay button? Was the order successfully placed?

Hi @xue28

Yes, this screen was showing always, but the issue is not continuing with the purchase process.
If it’s on a Desktop device shows a payment error, if it’s on a phone (Android) not give any error message too.
The order is not placed and no payment request on the Stripe side.

Thanks for providing further information about your issue here.

Please navigate to WooCommerce > Settings > Payments > Stripe > Settings > Advanced Settings and enable Debug Mode.

Then, create a test order again using Apple Pay which produced the error message like on this screenshot.

Afterwards, please provide the fatal error logs (if any) under WooCommerce > Status > Logs.

Have you tried with a different card? It’s possible that the processing error is related to the card being used.

Should the issue persist, please can you contact us directly at WooCommerce.com > My Account > Support so that we can take a closer look.

You may need to create an account before you can access that page. Also, please include a link to this forum thread, so that we can keep track of what’s already been done.

On this site, we are using Stripe Test mode.
Tried different cards and not working, but it’s working when I use these same cards in the normal payment option.
