Hi, hope you are all doing fine!

We are trying to promote a link on our social media but the preview for the post on LinkedIn is not showing the correct picture and preview. At first it was showing the information from last year’s event but now is just showing a small picture and no description at all.

When sharing the same link on other platforms (Twitter, Slack for instance) it shows the right text and picture on the preview. So I am not sure if it is just LinkedIn or also it will look incorrect on other social media platforms that we are not using. I am using Google Chrome on my computer but we also tried in other computers with other browsers and the problem is still there.

I saw some other questions about a similar topic but it was either asking about a specific plugin or the problem was not really fixed. Any idea of how can we fix it?

Thanks a lot! Have a nice day,

AFAIK, the image’s size or aspect suggested in your page’s Open Graph tags (as injected by Yoast) is insufficient by LinkedIn standards, so LinkedIn may have grabbed other data which you did not intend. Use the LinkedIn Post Inspector to gain more insight.

Good morning, and thank you so much for the reply!

Do you suggest just changing the picture on Yoast for social media? In WordPress Yoast just gives the option of modifying the preview for Twitter and Facebook, but not LinkedIn (at last as far as I can see with the permits I have now on the website).

I used LinkedIn Post Inspector before and it shows the picture but not the text. At the bottom of the inspection page, when talking about the “Metadata that we gathered about this page:” it catches the description but still it doesn’t show it on the preview.

Thanks for the kind replies and have a great day!
