Hi @rodricus,
I hope you are doing well today!
Please inform us about which options you are using on Smush compression settings. Super Smush can help you to reduce the size and we have also PNG to JPG conversion and Local WebP options which are not available in free versions.

Hello Zafer,
Which specific options do you mean? I am using the default settings mostly and I am using the free version. I have the feeling Smush is not compressing the image at all.
Hi @rodricus,
What we meant was to know the current settings that you have enabled under Smush > Bulk Smush page.
Possible to share a full-page screenshot of the settings you have enabled, so that we could have a better idea?
Also is the issue specific to any one image or do you notice it with all the images? Possible to also share one such example image via Google Drive, or via any such services in the next reply?
Looking forward to your response.
Kind Regards,
Nithin
Hi @rodricus
Thanks for sharing the screenshot!
There are two related issues here:
1. The message on top shows that not all images were processed yet; so there may still be plenty of images that weren’t actually compressed;
2. but the key point is the “Compress original images” option which is disabled.
The file name of example image that you shared suggests it is the “original image” – as uploaded. With this option disabled, it was not and will not be processed – so no compression there.
When you upload images to WordPress, there are always copies of that image created in multiple smaller sizes. Some of those are default to WordPress core, some may be created due to additional image sizes registered by theme and other plugins.
By default, only those “copies” are optimized and original images are left intact.
If you enable “Compress original images” option, they will also be processed and compressed (though after enabling it, you will need to run bulk smushing again to compress already uploaded images; newly uploaded ones will be compressed upon upload).
Kind regards,
Adam
