Webp?

Hello,

I’m trying to convert my .png images from my website to .webp format. Although I checked the box “Create WebP version of image” on the Wp-Optimize plug in, nothing happens. My images on my site are still in png and I have no changes in my media.

Did I forget to do something? Plug in? Update? Anyone Know? 😎

I am on WpEngine Version 6.1.1 & WP-Optimize 3.2.10

@alanaubert You should compress your image in order to create a webp version of it. If you already compressed your images and has been using it in your content, then you can only convert those images to webp format from media library itself.

This option is available in the latest version 3.2.13

@webulous I’ll look into updating the plug in, but it’s strange that it doesn’t work when the option is already available on 3.2.10.

Hello,

I made the 3.2.13 update but there is no option in the media, can you make me a screen of where I should find it? When I compress my images I don’t have webp either.

@alanaubert Make sure you have webp conversion tools available on your server.

Hello, I face the same issue. The log puts it as:

“There were no WebP conversion tools found on your server.”

after compressing the images. I use Bluehost and Cloudflare. What does that mean? What can I do to solve it? Thanks for your patience.
