Hi there, I’m experiencing a technical issue with WooCommerce.

When trying to access WooCommerce > Home it shows me an error : Request failed with status code 403. This error also shows on the plugin page. When updating the plugin, it also crashes the site.

Background: I’ve migrated my site from GoDaddy’s WordPress Managed Hosting as I experienced server errors daily. I wasn’t able to load any new products because of the server errors (stating server load has reached it’s capacity). I then proceeded to migrate the site in hopes of resolving the server error. It is now hosted on their Web Hosting Plus cPanel account. The error appeared immediately after migration. Their support team cannot assist as they say it’s a WooCommerce error.

Any advice would be appreciated 🙂

    Hi @nicolenoppe ,

    Thanks for reaching out!

The 403 forbidden code usually means that something is blocking the connection — it could be on-site from some caching or security plugin, or at server-level.

As a first step, I would recommend purging and disabling any caching plugins you may have running on the site, followed by disabling any security plugins.

If you have done that with no success, the immediate next step would be to do a conflict test by temporarily switching to a default theme, such as Storefront, to see if the issue persists.

If the issue is still there, then you’ll need to disable all your plugins, except for WooCommerce, to see if that resolves the issue. If it does, please re-enable your other plugins, one at a time, until you have managed to identify the culprit.

We have full instructions on how to do a conflict test here.

Should the issue persist, please can you share a copy of the following:

    • System Status Report: navigate to WooCommerce → Status. Select Get system report and then Copy for support.
    • Fatal Error Log: Share a copy of any fatal error log found under WooCommerce → Status → Logs.
    • Screenshots: Share a screenshot of the error message as it appears on your end, as well as a screenshot of what you are seeing after trying to update the WooCommerce plugin.

Snipboard.io can be used for easily sharing screenshots – please follow the instructions on that page, then paste the URL in this thread.

    Cheers!
