boxed format showing even though I’ve selected unboxed

Hi I’ve noticed an update on themes on the 16th March (3.0.26) but today my home screen has changed to displaying boxed articles – I have tried selecting boxed and then unboxed, and then clearing the cache – but it’s still showing them as boxed.
