Issue with PHP 8 and NextGEN Gallery

I’ve recently been asked to update the PHP by the company hosting my website.

They helped me with this.

However they found an issue with NextGEN Gallery and PHP 8.0.

Here’s the issue:

We have noted that your site can run successfully over on PHP 8.0. Unfortunately it appears the photo galleries on the pages will not run without an update to NextGen Gallery. Upon updating this plugin this causes issues on the pages where all the photos in the gallery will display on the page, rather than the current view with one image showing and the slideshow running. As we aim to keep the same functionality on the site we have decided to hold this update and keep the site running on PHP 7.4.

In regards to resolving this, looking through documentation it appears NextGen went through a change for developers. As such the photo galleries you created would need remaking in the new format. There is options to import from the old galleries however this requires purchase of the Premium version of NextGen gallery. We would recommend to get in touch with NextGen and advise of the situation and they can point you in the correct direction.
