trying to connect Facebook but keep getting error Could not retrieve installation IDs. Please help. I’ve been searching the forums for hours and cant figure it out.

I understand you are connecting your site to Facebook, I am assuming you are following this documentation:

Can you tell me at what stage of the setup wizard this error is appearing?
