• When I attempt to log on to my blog or my admin page I get the following message:
This website is temporarily unavailable, please try again later.

I just put the blog up a week or so ago.

  • Delete the file .maintenance from your site directory. It’s a hidden file so you’ll need to set your FTP client to show them.

Thanks for the help. How can I do this if I cant
‘t get in to my admin page?

Delete the file through your FTP client.

    Excuse my ignorance…

I am new to wp and I’m learning as I go. I have Filezilla as an FTP and I’ve looked everywhere to find the .maintenance file, but I’m having no luck. Can you give me any more info on getting there?

I bet you’ve not shown hidden files.

In 3.x I think it’s under the Server file menu. Should say ‘Show hidden files’ or something similar. Turn that on.
