Anyone else have a problem setting up permalinks? I added the code to the .htaccess file, but I don’t have access to the https.config file even though my server does have Apache… i think 2.0.63. Is there a way around this that anyone is aware of?

    Thanks much!

  • Your are not getting any errors, are you?

Well…. you may have apache but your host may not have the rewrite module active. ask them if they have it installed and active you need this to use permalinks.

If they don’t there is really nothing that you can do but change hosting company.

when i set up pretty permalinks, I get the 404 error… works fine with it set to default, which is where it is for now just so it works. i’ve tried contacting my host and haven’t been able to get through, so yep… looking into another host.

anyone use fatcow? do you like it??? considering them and godaddy as the new host.

just hoping there was an easier way 🙂

    Thanks!
