Hi vyw928,
Thanks for reaching out.
I also see the blue rectangle showing in your sidebar and found that the blue color is coming from your theme. All ins elements have this blue background color assigned.
This is also a good sign since this confirms the AdSense ad code is in the correct place.
I recommend removing the background color. Afterward, please confirm your AdSense account is up and running and also test other AdSense ad formats, for example a responsive ad unit directly in your content. You can create these ad units in AdSense and then import these into Advanced Ads to assign them on a content placement or use the sidebar widget like you already do.
Best regards,
Henning

@henningaa , thanks for the reply! Could you tell me what an ins element is and how to remove it? Thanks again.

Sorry, I mean how to remove the background color? Thanks!
Hi vyw928,
The background color can be removed by editing your themes CSS file. Please see this article about the different approaches on how to adjust CSS on your WordPress website.
Your theme developer might also be able to help you.
I also suggest experimenting with other ad formats and positions to see if AdSense shows a different behavior, for example in your articles.
Best regards,
Henning
Hi vyw928,
I just saw you where able to remove the blue rectangle from your sidebar.
I still see AdSense ad code at the same place executing but not loading an actual ad. How are the test with other ad units and formats working out?
Best regards,
Henning

Hi henningaa, @henningaa
Thank you for the response! I really appreciate your attention and assistance. I just contacted Google Adsense to learn why ads aren’t showing.
Hi vyw928,
I hope you are doing well and AdSense offered you assistance.
Maybe you are also interested in testing a few alternative networks. Find those that we are currently recommending in this list on our website.
I will also mark this topic as resolved for now. Please don’t hesitate to open a new one if you have further questions.
