Tools Network Menu with Old MU

    Ok. Many, many hours spent on this. Just finished reading all the posts on Tools->Network item missing. I have two domains on two different servers. Here is my question: If I already had WordPress Mu installed and upgraded to 3.0.1 — do I need to access the Tools->Network menu item? My current understanding is that I do not, but how do I get the instructions for the htaccess file and other changes that I need. I found some examples on the forum but they are specific to the authors example. I guess I need to just wipe out the site and start completely over with a fresh install of 3.0.1. I do have other wordpress sites that I support so I would truly like to understand this whole mess. PS. The quotes are not the problem.

    No you do not need the menu
    .

    You don’t need those, as you’re upgrading from mu, so your setup is *different*.

    when you upgrade from MU, there’s a big yellow box in the backend that gives you what you need to know. that’s it.

    No need to reinstall anything. the majority of people I’ve talked to (and installs we upgraded ourselves) it went just fine, no issues.
