Hi there @colette6114 👋🏽</img>!
Thank you for reaching out to MailPoet Support!
Is the recipient aware of the newsletter because his computer is programmed to automatically open emails ? Does “opened by machine” mean that the recipient does not see the newsletter?
Open rates have always been tracked through a tiny invisible image embedded in the email code. When the email is opened, that image loads and the loading of that image tells the sender that their email was opened.
That’s how MailPoet detects open rates and determine “Inactive” subscribers.
However, with the recent Apple Privacy updates and other email clients using scripts and spam filters, a false open can be triggered by scripts and code when the email images are automatically downloaded before the user even sees the email, that’s what we call a machine open.
You can read more about it here: https://kb.mailpoet.com/article/368-what-are-machine-opens
Cheers!
OK
Thank you, I understand better
Does this mean that the newsletter goes undesirable and that the recipient does not read the newsletter?
Hi again,
Does this mean that the newsletter goes undesirable and that the recipient does not read the newsletter?
Not exactly, when you see that it was opened by a machine it means that the user hasn’t opened the email.
But it doesn’t mean that the email went to the spam folder.
I hope this helps!
Cheers
OK, Yes this helps ! Thank you. I have understood.
