Does it play an animated .gif

I have just added a .gif image with the Image Layer:

and it worked fine for me in the Slide Editor, in Preview and on the frontend as well.

I checked it with the latest Chrome and Firefox, so maybe this issue is actually connected to the file itself, e.g. the file is too large, Here you can see some possible causes
