• Hi,

    I’ve tried to update my woocommerce extension to the latest version 7.2.0. When I do, a red message appears saying :
    Update failed: Fatal error: Uncaught Error: Call to undefined function trailingslashit() in /homepages/34/d4296875347/htdocs/wordpress/wp-includes/class-wp-textdomain-registry.php:103 Stack trace: #0 /homepages/34/d4296875347/htdocs/wordpress/wp-includes/l10n.php(784): WP_Textdomain_Registry->set('default', 'fr_FR', '/homepages/34/d...') #1 /homepages/34/d4296875347/htdocs/wordpress/wp-includes/load.php(1401): load_textdomain('default', '/homepages/34/d...', 'fr_FR') #2 /homepages/34/d4296875347/htdocs/wordpress/wp-includes/load.php(278): wp_load_translations_early() #3 /homepages/34/d4296875347/htdocs/wordpress/wp-settings.php(74): wp_maintenance() #4 /homepages/34/d4296875347/htdocs/wordpress/wp-config.php(189): require_once('/homepages/34/d...') #5 /homepages/34/d4296875347/htdocs/wordpress/wp-load.php(50): require_once('/homepages/34/d...') #6 /homepages/34/d4296875347/htdocs/wordpress/wp-admin/admin-ajax.php(22): require_once('/homepages/34/d...') #7 {main} thrown in /homepages/34/d4296875347/htdocs/wordpress/wp-includes/class-wp-textdomain-registry.php on line 103

    Can anyone help me resolve the issue please?
    Thanks!
    Lucie

    It looks like central wordpress files have gone missing. This should never happen due to an update of a plugin.

    My recommendation would be: download the wordpress package matching your current installation locally: https://wordpress.org/download/releases/ – unzip the file locally and upload the directory wp-includes via FTP to your hosting. The support of your hosting can certainly help you with this.

    Thanks very much for your help. You think this error isn’t due to the update of the woocommerce plugin then? I am just trying to understand what could have caused the issue.

    Would you recommend contacting my hosting first or can you safely assure I can upload this wp-includes file to my hosting via FTP?

    Thanks

    If you feel unsure about doing this yourself, you can contact their support – yes. If you feel confident doing it, you can do it yourself.

    Okay thanks, and do you have any idea what the issue actually is and what could have caused it?

    Too full memory or write problems to the files during the last update. Anything. Your hoster could also tell you something about this.
