Using Lightbox with Featured Images (Post Thumbnails)

    On singular posts, my theme displays the featured image (post thumbnail) above the post content. The size displayed is medium and the featured image is linked to its full version.

    I have the Lightbox activated for native WP images and it works fine with images I place in the post content via the image block, but I would like the same effect with my featured images displayed by the site theme.

    Is there any way to do this? Maybe a function, filter/action hook, etc.?
