After the last update, I started experiencing a strange lag on my site. The page loaded slower. Weird and long delays uploading and inserting images in WordPress. When the Dreamhost admins had a look at it, this is what came back:

Yeah it looks like it’s something to do with Mailpoet specifically. When that plugin is disabled, the site performs much faster. So I would recommend contacting the plugin developer to see what may be causing the issue with the plugin

It may be a simple fix, but if there’s something that needs to change on the hosting side in order to be compatible with their update, we would just need to know what that is.

I will say that it’s fairly common for the entire site to crash when I update the MailPoet plugin. (It’s been fine the last couple weeks, but I think I had three crashes in a row before that. Deleting and reinstalling fixes it.)

Are there known issues with Dreamhost?

    Hi there @whateverbuddy 👋🏽!

Thank you for reaching out to MailPoet Support!

Mhh did they give you any specific information regarding what exactly in MailPoet was slowing the site?

If this is related to the Newsletter Task Scheduler you could maybe follow the steps in this tutorial to set up a Cron job instead.

Please give it a try and let us know if that shows any improvement on your site. If it doesn’t please reach out to the Dreamhost support team for further details and share them with us, we’ll be glad to help.

    Cheers!
