    Hi there,

I set up a backup to be in my Google Drive. I can see the files are being stored there.

But I also notice I have about 4GB of data in my Hosting Web Space.

    Why is that?

    Hi,

UpdraftPlus by default saves the backup on your local server. If you want to keep your backup to your remote storage only, you need to enable the “Delete local backups” option. This can be found in the UpdraftPlus “Settings” tab > Show Expert settings.

    Thanks,
    Bryle

    Hi MGF,

Initially, the backup is stored in your server when the backup is occuring. After finishing a backup, the backup is transferred to Google Drive storage and then deleted it from your server.

Hope it helps you to understand the functionality.

    Thank you.
