Author page

So I am wanting to create a list of our authors, so that people can scroll through and see what they would like. Currently I have been doing it as a grid creating a an image and linking to their author page. This takes a long time and doesn’t automatically update as we add authors.

I am aware of [mybooktable list=”authors”] my this doesn’t put the authors in grids, and kind of over fills the page with too much information. Is there a way to list the authors in a kind of grid with just their face and author name below, maybe with option for selecting a letter of the alphabet to easily find an author?

I have looked at addons which list out categories which the authors sometime come under however, their author photos do not appear under this section with them.
