Remember Me Checkbox not working….

    Hi,

    I have about 4 WordPress sites and I realized that the “remember me” checkbox doesn’t seem to be saving any data (I thought it would save the username”. An assoicate of mine is having the same issue. I actually thought it was a cookie issue so I set my settings to the lowest and to accept all cookies to any site. Still doesn’t work. I’ve tried lots of things (opening and closing browser). Nothing seems to work.

    Could this be something about how WordPress is interacting with my host?

    I’m using IE 8 and Firefoxes lates version.

    I can get the auto complete and save password settings in IE 8 to work. However, that works whether I have the remember me checkbox checked or not.

    Any ideas?

    If your URL’s are at all similar, like from the same host or domain, WP may not fill in the id because there are several and it doesn’t know which to choose.

    This can get somewhat messy, as WP can be confused; sometimes you may need to log out explicitly from one site when going to another instead of just opening another tab/window or closing the browser.

    You can also try starting to key in the first letter of the ID, and it may fill it in for you along with the password. Beyond that, not sure, could very well be related to cookies, cache, or other stuff that I don’t particularly enjoy playing with. 🙂 A guru might know the answer.

    I wonder how many human-hours of time have been wasted clicking that box 🙂
