IKEA furniture instructions are easier to follow!

    I’m trying to download and install WordPress but it’s impossible as the instructions are written in computer terms I don’t understand. I downloaded every thing and started reading the detailed instructions and straight away its talking about FTP, shell etc etc and I have no idea what any of that means.

    Is there a .exe file like normal software to install this software?

    Or is there a proper set of instructions that is in regular English with screen shots etc?

    Do you want to run WordPress locally on your PC? If so, go to https://localwp.com and download the free “local” app. If you want to put a site out there publicly, then you’d install WordPress on your host. Most hosts have one button installers for that.

    Unlike Ikea, you won’t need an Allen wrench or have left-over screws.

    Thank you for you reply. As y ou can tell, I’m totally new to this web site building game! I’ve only ever built ecommerce sites on Shopify. I want to create a website and then upload to my web host, I would host on Wordprress.com but is super expensive. Am I able to create a website using localwp.com on my laptop and then upload it later?

    There are lots of hosts; we recommend a few: https://wordpress.org/hosting/

    And yes, you can start locally and upload later.

    Excellent, thank you for all your help its very much appreciated.

    Now back to the Ikea furniture!
