Muli – language plugins problems

    I would like to try a multi language plugin with my blog. I have tried two:

    Gengo and WPML

    When I tried activating WPML, all of my blog pages turned blank (the header and side columns were showing — just the page in the middle was missing!

    When I tried activating Gengo, I received an error about problem with insufficient permissions.

    Since then, if I try to activate either plugin, I get the same error message:

    WordPress database error: [Table 'deutvps_wp1.wp_languages' doesn't exist]
SELECT code FROM wp_languages AS l INNER JOIN wp_post2lang AS p2l ON l.language_id = p2l.language_id WHERE p2l.post_id = 287 LIMIT 1

    Can anyone give me some direction please?
