Admin send messages to all users

    I’m looking for a way to do the following:

    1. add an “alerts” with an icon to the site’s main navigation & sticky menu(NOT A SEPARATE BAR AS WITH MANY PLUGINS AVAILABLE). This alert’s “link” / & or icon would change if a new notification was present. – BuddyPress seems to do something similar, but I shouldn’t need that entire plugin just to accomplish this small task.

    2. The notifications as described above would be generated by the admin in the backend. The purpose of this would be to deliver short text/image-based promotional messages to all new users whenever the site admins “send one out”.

    3. – Not required but would be nice – in addition to the items mentioned above, it would be really awesome if the promotion delivered in the message, could be displayed on the page as an element using a shortcode. that way whenever a new message is sent out by the admins, the same promotion could be instantly displayed wherever I put the shortcode. In addition to being seen as an alert in the header. Does this make sense?

    I have spent countless hours trying to find a plugin to accomplish this but can only find plugins that create their own bar.

    Hey there,

    What I think here, instead of sending a proper notification, what if you create another post category let’s say “notifications” and add all new short notifications (post) in it, by this, you can also have notifications saved as well as you can use the direct category URL to add it on your menu header by text/icon as you need, and whenever new post is added in the category, the text/icon would have a notification badge blinking, this can be achieved by the below guide:

    Thank you, Kishan! The idea with the posts and categories is a good one. I’ll attempt to try this and let you know the result.
