Thanks so much for reaching out! Did you have a customization in place? If so, this may have been overridden with a plugin update.
If not, can you take a screenshot of the area you are referring to? Which widget are you using? Is it one of our widgets?
Looking forward to your response!
Thanks,
Jaime
Hi!
As I can see the file structure is recently changed in your plugin.
Before the update I had the “widgets” folder in the src/views directory, containing the files calendar-widget.php and list-widget.php.
These files (and their folder, “widgets”) are now gone, deprecated, in the new version.
The effect is that my widget of the event’s list in home page has stopped showing a thumbnail of the eventi image, as you can see in this image: https://ibb.co/2ct7nHK
If I click on the event link I see the image in its full size, taken from the Facebook Import plugin: https://ibb.co/742zJYx
As the calendar-widget.php is also missing, my calendar view is also messed up: https://ibb.co/PDYqfPF
So, I’m asking: there’s a way to have these two widgets up and working again?
Thank you in advance, I look forward to hear from you.
Fabio
Hi @lord-phobos, sorry to hear about this. With the 6.0 migration, there would be deprecated methods, refactored functions, and restructured directories as such. That being said, there would be features and widgets that would not work properly, this particular filter tribe_events_list_widget_featured_image_link. https://theeventscalendar.com/knowledgebase/k/developer-changes-version-6-0-with-legacy-views-removal/
For now, we do not have any workaround but to downgrade to pre-6.0. Here’s an article to help you with downgrading the plugins: Accessing and Installing Older Plugin Versions. https://theeventscalendar.com/knowledgebase/k/accessing-older-plugin-versions/
Appreciate your patience. Hope this helps.
Best,
Abz
Thank you!
I solved rolling back to previous version and re configuring.
Where can I find a working and not deprecated version of calendar-widget.php?
Now I see this ugly thing: https://www.anonimagiocatori.it/calendar/
Thanks again.
Hi @lord-phobos,
Apologies for the delay here. Good to know that you were able to downgrade.
It seems like the calendar is not appearing on the URL, it could be because of the theme template. Could you interchange the settings under Display → Default stylesheet used for events templates and Events template? See if that fixes the view including the widget.
Let me know how it goes.
Best,
Abz
Hi,
done and that fixed the calendar view, really thanks!
Do you think now it is safe to update the plugin?
Regards,
Fabio
Hi @lord-phobos,
That’s good to know. If you have some time to review, that would be amazing. https://wordpress.org/support/plugin/the-events-calendar/reviews/
Do you think now it is safe to update the plugin?
It is safe, although we currently have issues and bugs with the release. If you don’t see any issues for you to upgrade, please go ahead and upgrade. See the known issues for 6.0 here https://theeventscalendar.com/known-issues/.
Have a great day.
Best,
Abz
