Hi,
Please accept my apologies for your inconvenience.
Uptime Robot sent a site down warning.
The website has been added a basic auth login.
As you know, the AIOS has nothing related to basic auth. The AIOS upgrade doesn’t add any basic auth.
No login via the special login URL https://website.de/?something=1 was possible, as I didn’t know (and didn’t set) basic auth.
After finishing your vacation, Can you please set this set Cookie based brute force protection on Admin Dashboard > Brute Force > Cookie based brute force protection.
Can I leave it that way?
The plugin is now updated to 5.0.5
Yes, It will work okay.
I am sorry again.
We are very thankful for your love of the AIOS plugin. We are committed to adding new features and fixing bugs in the AIOS plugin. 🙂

Strange enough, what happened.
I got the update mail at 15:26
These plugins are now up to date:
– All In One WP Security (from version 4.4.12 to 5.0.0)
and after some time (uptime robot is set to 30min) this:
Root cause
HTTP 401 – Unauthorized

It’s set and “something” is obviously a bit more complex 😉
It worked flawlessly before and does now.
So I then leave it so.
Anyway, I will stop automatic updates 😉
Thanks for the quick response and the great plugin.
Mic
We are very happy to help you.
Yes, you are right that you should stop automatic updates.
I had the same problem, our website crashed when upgrading from 4.4.12 to 5.0.5. Our server is virtual so I am thankful I took a snapshot before I did the updates and restored our website back. Is there anything I can do to upgrade to 5.0.5 or should I just avoid this update all together and wait for an updated version?

Kindly accept my apologies for your inconvenience.
Many times the update of the plugin is causing an inconsistent state due to your host’s internet connection issue.
Can you please try to manually update your plugin as described on https://blog.hubspot.com/website/how-to-manually-update-wordpress-plugin?
Thank you for reaching out to us.
Thank you, it seems to be working now. I have version 5.0.6 installed.
