• Hello,

When clicking on the burger menu of the site, a menu appears as a “floating” sidebar.

What I like about it the possibility to see ALL the categories and even scroll down the menu.

This is very convenient when you have dozen or even hundred of categories, such as book categories and genres.

What is the alternative with GP to satisfy that need: Having a user-friendly menu with 25 to 50 first level Menu categories?

    Thank you

  • Hi there,

you would need GP Premium as it has that feature ( Off Canvas Panel ).
Or you would need to use a plugin or custom development.

    Hi @diggeddy,

    Thanks so much.

One question: WHat happens if I have 25 items in my menu?

I mean, I assume that the Off Canvas menu will enable scrolling down the items as on the example I provided.

1 – But what about the top menu? How to avoid a mess?
2 – If needed, how to hide the top menu as on the example I provided above to keep only the Off canvas menu?

    Thanks

    Hi @masterhealerwp,

Yes, the Off Canvas Panel would scroll if the items exceed the height.

    1. You can use custom code to make it scrollable.

    2. To remove the top bar, just remove all top bar items. To hide it, you can use custom code as well.

    Hi,

I’m sorry but I’m confused by the French GUI of my WordPress.

    2. What do you mean by remove the top bar? How do you do that?
    I tried this .

But look at what happens to the top menu: Instead of disappearing, it displays like “a mess”.

For 1., are you talking about the defaut WordPress top menu or about the off canvas menu?

PS: what is best, removing or hiding the top bar?

    Thanks

You can go the Appearance > Widgets, and remove all widgets in the top bar.

That should remove the top bar.

    Hello,

It does not seem to work or I’m missing something.

Look at my widgets. They are all empty, right?

Again, on the top of my site, I want to keep visible:
    – my logo
    – the burger menu and magnifying glass

And I want to remove the menu items.

    This screenshot summarizes this visually.
How can I do this with GP please?

    Thank you

    You need to:

Create a blank menu ( ie. no menu items ) in Appearance > Menus and set its Location to the Primary Navigation.

    Bingo!
    The solution I needed.
    Thank you @diggeddy
