Last updates for woocommerce messed up tax values. Meaning that if you take the tax percentage out of the product price, the value calculated by woocommerce is not correct. Also, when you apply coupon discount, the discount itself should be deducted from the final total not pieces from each product. Because of this, woocommerce can’t be used, as it is illegal to add product with zero value to invoice. I tested fresh install of woocommerce on latest version of WordPress. Again both fresh installed and up to the latest version. Tax values are not calculated properly and also, I do not understand how discount applies. It should deduct from final total of the order, not parts from each product of the order. Also, discount is not taxable, so in backend instead of the fixed price, it shows with a different value.

    Hi Florin,

Tax values are not calculated properly and also, I do not understand how discount applies. It should deduct from final total of the order, not parts from each product of the order.

Since we are talking price and tax calculation. Could you give us an example with numbers please? We ll try and mimic your steps to gauge what is going on.

Last but not least: Thank you for refining your text, I appreciate that.
    Let’s do this.

    Kind regards,

So first thing that needs fixing is related to coupon. Coupon system is ok, but when you apply a coupon to an order, the value of the coupon should be deducted from the final total of the order, not split into deductions from each product price. In some cases, product will end up with zero value, and when you want to generate invoice that would be a problem. It is illegal in Europe to add product price to invoice with zero value. What I am saying is that, when you apply coupon, product price should remain as it is, and the coupon value should only be deducted from the total of the order.

Second biggest issue is related to tax. Tax values are not reflecting the correct value, and again when displayed on invoice, this would be a big issue. It is required by law in Europe to display tax with correct value on invoice. Also, when you apply coupon, somehow tax is applied to coupon. You can’t apply tax to a coupon, because it is a plain deduction. I can share screenshots but can do so here.

As you can see in the first invoice, the tax value is not correct.
Second Invoice will show you what I mean with the coupon issue.

All the values are from the system, nothing tampered with.

    Hello!

It will be great if you could share your current System Status Report. You can get it by navigating to the WooCommerce / Status section of your site. Once there, click on the Get system report button and then copy it by clicking on the Copy for support button. Then paste it here in a comment.

Are you using any third party extension for the discounts or the default WooCommerce options?
