list_cats issue

I’ve managed to get my categories to display heiarchicallly (sub categories listed under parent categories), but I have an issue/question.

I’m going to have some parent categories that have nothing in them except children. There doesn’t seem to be a way to do this, but for categories that have children & have no posts of their own, I’d prefer them not to be links, and not to display (0). This might require an extra flag or something?
