Question re: AO & Async JavaScript

    Hi – I am deferring js in AO and I think it is working OK. I am getting called out on lighthouse for ‘Reduce unused JavaScript and defer loading scripts’. This contains the gtm and gtag js (two files).

    Would Async Javascript plugin help here to defer these? If so, is there a potential impact on the reporting in GA (especially for bounces etc.?) if the user does not interact with the page then the visit will not be recorded?

    AsyncJS (or the async field on settings -> Autoptimize -> extra) could probably help there, but I can’t say for sure if this will or will not impact GA reporting I’m afraid ..
