Updating older version after domain move
-
Hello!
We’ve used your plugin for years on our business DIY website and have loved it. Approximately 4 years back we changed domain names, rebranded, and had all the older pages forwarded.
Everything went smoothly including transferring all plugins accept for yours which was the only one that did not have an option to move it easily to a new domain. Fearing breaking all the hundreds of download links, your older 3.5.0 version was kept intact. As we keep downloads in a specific folder and refernce them via URL, we manually updated each one within the backend of your plugin so they reflected the new domain as opposed to referencing the old one.
Unfortunately, due to severe illness the problem was never dealt with. The older 3.5.0 version of Simple Download Monitor is still in place and is surprisingly still working with WordPress 6.0. But it obviously needs to be updated.
QUESTION:
Is there a way we can update from 3.5.0 to your newest 3.8.8 version that will allow us to keep all the current 500 plus download links intact without manually redoing every one of them on each separate post? (I’d like to keep the download logs also if possible.)
The current plugin has been backed up via ftp as have the log files.
I’d appreciate any input.
Thanks!
