I activated the Jetpack Boost plugin in the latest version of WordPress (6.0.1) hosted by Bluehost, using Twenty Twenty-One theme with Twentig. Within a few hours I noticed that search engines (Google and Bing) were no longer seeing the secure version of my site (just an old unsecured site with redirects). Also all internal links including the nav bar links led to a 404 Not Found page. BlueHost fixed the problem and told me the htaccess file was missing. Then said that invalid code and been added to the htaccess file. They cleaned up the file and replaced it which immediately solved the problem. This might have happened in some other way, but I wanted to check with you to see if Jetpack Boost automatically adds code to the htaccess file? (If that’s even possible.) I like the plugin and would like to use it but now I’m nervous about it.

    Hi Robin,

I’d like to start by apologizing for not getting back to you before. Unfortunately, we have received an unusual amount of support requests, which is delaying our response time, and we generally answer in the order received.

I confirm Jetpack Boost doesn’t modify the htaccess file in any way.
