Cannot create new product category

Hello,
I am having an issue creating a new product category for my menu in dashboard -> appearance -> menus. *I’ve never had this issue before*
I have already created the product category here https://snipboard.io/mbAdIk.jpg but I cannot select any category to add to my menu (even though I have 20+ categories in my menus for over a year now) and non of them are showing under “category” as seen here.
Is this a bug?
