    Hello:

I’m getting the following errors from debug.log after upgrading to 6.01

WordPress database error Multiple primary key defined for query ALTER TABLE wpkp_usermeta ADD PRIMARY KEY (umeta_id) made by wp_upgrade, make_db_current_silent, dbDelta

WordPress database error Duplicate key name ‘meta_key’ for query ALTER TABLE wpkp_usermeta ADD KEY meta_key (meta_key(191)) made by wp_upgrade, make_db_current_silent, dbDelta

I have a few more tables with the same error.

Please advise on how to resolve this.

I’m sorry to see you have trouble. Let’s see if we can fix it.

I don’t see your metadata upload. Did it fail? Can you try again? Please visit Tools / Index MySQL / About in your dashboard and press the Upload Metadata button.

I know you are upgrading TO v 6.0.1. FROM what version of WordPress are you upgrading?

Possible workaround: If you have your pre-upgraded site, you can use the plugin to restore WordPress’s standard keys, then do the upgrade, then use the plugin again to put in the high-performance keys.

    oops. Sorry.

I thought my initial posts didn’t go through (got flagged for spam), so I never bothered checking back into the boards. Sorry for the late reply and double posting. I will use this thread for the issue I’m facing. I deactivated the plugin and deleted it (I reverted it to standard keys before deactivation). It still wouldn’t upgrade with the same log errors. I reactivated the plugin. I hope you can solve my issue. I haven’t tried upgrading it yet. I figure I will wait for your response before attempting again.

Here is my new metadata ID –> LCNRtrrB.

I am upgrading from version 6.0.

I tried upgrading through the suggested method and it didn’t work. So I had to restore the website with the last backup prior to the upgrade. Therefore, I had to activate a new instance of the plugin. It generated a new metadata code. This is the last time I will play with the upgrade. I will wait to hear your response on a fix.

I won’t touch it until I hear back.

These messages are, unfortunately, normal if you do a version upgrade with high-performance keys in place. The upgrade process tries to create keys, and some of those creations fail.

But the upgrade succeeds (for almost all users, at any rate). You then get a nagbox asking you to visit the plugin’s page to convert the keys.

If, for some reason, those error messages are fatal on your configuration here’s the workaround.

    1. revert the keys
    2. do the upgrade
    3. add the high-performance keys

Could you please let me know whether, in your case, the version upgrade actually failed.

    Thanks for your patience.

    Your suggestion didn’t work.
I had outside help to resolve the issue and remove the plugin.
Too bad it didn’t work for me.
