• Hello,

I’m using WordPress 3.0 and I’ve been fiddling around with it for a few days, and I think I may have messed up my permalinks structure. I changed it a few times because I couldn’t decide which structure I liked better, but suddenly it stopped working.

Right now, it’s set to numeric structure. I don’t get a 404 when I go to a page, it instead just re-displays the homepage with extra archive links within the page (ex: go back to Post 1, etc).

I have tried re-writing the .htaccess file, but that didn’t do anything. I’ve tried using the custom permalink plugin, and that just gave me 404 errors.

    My website is: http://www.faeryinkpress.com

    Any suggestions?

No, it’s not. I did change my permalink structure again to see if that would work, but it still just brings up the homepage.

    Have you tried:

    – deactivating all plugins to see if this resolves the problem? If this works, re-activate the plugins one by one until you find the problematic plugin(s).

    – switching to the default theme to rule out any theme-specific problems?

resetting the plugins folder by FTP or phpMyAdmin? Sometimes, an apparently inactive plugin can still cause problems.

I deactivated the plugins and switched the template to something else and that seemed to solve it. Thanks! 🙂
