• Hey guys,

    I am trying to help one of my friends with his WP blog, he screwed up something royally – what I am exactly not sure.

    I suggested him to change his domain & site url in wp-admin to “www” version of the site, as he wanted so. I am not sure what exactly he did but he’s getting “This has been disabled” error message, when tries to open /wp-admin/ , he doesn’t have any security plugins that should be limiting him to.

    Here’s the screenshot – https://i.imgur.com/sxC66jY.jpg
    Other than /wp-admin/ rest of the site seems to load without any errors that I can see.

    I have tried searching for similar issues but most of them seem to suggest to disable plugins but he doesn’t have plugins other than akismet, seo, classic editor, sitemap.

    Really look forward for your suggestions, to fix his mess.

  • I see you didn’t provide the domain name and even blocked it from the screenshot.

    Without being able to see the domain and run some checks, the only advice I can give you is to reach out to your hosting provider for them to restore a backup of your site for you.

    Alternatively, you may follow the article below to try to change the site URL back to what it used to be to see of that works.

    Of course, if you could provide the domain name, I could offer more specific advice.

    Good luck!

    @gappiah Hi George,

    thanks for your reply.

    I had to hide the site link, as I do not have permission from my friend to share it on a public forum. I am not sure, if WP forums has option to “PM” unlike other forums – to give the link in private.
