Help with htaccess file

    My htaccess file seems to be missing and my permalinks don’t work ie; Entries RSS, Comments RSS, and Post a Comment, Etc.. I heard you can make your own .htaccess file but how do you do this. What language is it in? What to you put in it? Etc.. I am using notepad++
