• Hi all, i keep running into problems locating code to edit pages with firebug. I am trying to change or add to the text that reads

“This post is password protected. To view it please enter your password below”

    On this page

I look in the http://festivalnet.rollingsixes.com/directory/wp-pass.php that firebug indicates the code location but i can never find it….?

This happens to me quite alot and im wondering if im not using the firebug correctly…?

    Any help greatly appreciated

  • Why are you looking in wp-pass.php? And the page you linked to above is missing (404).

Sorry i was playing around with the site and deleted the page to be a bit more clear i would like to edit on this page the “There is no excerpt because this is a protected post.” and below that on the same page “This post is password protected. To view it please enter your password below:”

when i highlight the text in firebug i thought it indicated the code was in the wp-pass.php…….

You don’t want to start editing core WP files unless you really, really, know what you’re doing and are prepared to re-do it every time you upgrade WordPress. You might be better off looking for a plugin that will allow you to customise/style this text.

Thanks for looking and i definetley dont know what im really really doing….But surely that text has to be in a file somewhere…..?

What sort of plugin would allow me to edit the text, im not sure what to even search for.

    Cheers
