Setting variations without adjusting stock levels

    Hi all,

    I am setting up some new listings but am struggling with variations. I sell jewellery, and want to offer a choice of fixing. This is a break down of what I need:

    I have 5 x pairs of earrings.
    The customer can choose whether they want these attached to a stud, or a hoop.
    I also want an gift box option.

    I only have 5 pairs of earrings, but I have plenty of studs and hoops so I don’t need a stock limit attached to those, only to the earrings themselves.

    How can I set up the variations for this? When I have tried, it’s conjoining the options but I don’t want to divide my stock between the different fixings e.g. 3 studs, 2 hoops. I want it to be 5 x available with an option of fixing, and then an option for a gift box.

    Any help would be gratefully received! Thanks!

    Using a product addon plugin may be a good fit here. You can create products for the base earrings and manage inventory of them. And then use a product addon to offer a choice of fixing as well as gift wrapping. Here are some addon plugins you could check out:
