    Hi,

I’m importing attachment tags via keywords using template:([+xmp:dc.subject+]) as stated here: https://wordpress.org/support/topic/how-can-i-pass-the-xmp-keywords-inside-the-image-att-tags/

I have the exact same setup for my Att. Tags as you’ve posted there, and when I add an image or execute the rules the image tags are imported correctly, however the actual images don’t have those tags checked. So I have all my tags but they have 0 attachments and all my images have no Att. Tags.

    Extra info:

    • I have all 3 of the IPTC/EXIF mapping options enabled
    • I’ve gone through the settings and can’t find anything immediate that may be contributing to this issue
    • I’ve tried using Att. Categories instead of Att. Tags
    • I’ve tried using template:([+xmp:Keywords+]), template:([+iptc:2#025+]) and template:([+xmp:subject+]) and get the same result for all
    • I’ve tried Keep instead of Replace

This makes me think there’s just an obvious setting somewhere that I’m missing, and that hopefully you have the answer

    Thanks

Thanks for your report and for the work you’ve done to find the earlier topic, adapt its solution and experiment with alternatives.

I have just run a test on my system with an image that contains new keyword values and they were added to the Att. Tags taxonomy and assigned/checked in the Media Library item.

You wrote “when I add an image or execute the rules the image tags are imported correctly“. I assume that means they are present in the list of terms on the Media/Att. Tags screen; is that right?

You wrote “the actual images don’t have those tags checked“. Since Att. Tags is a flat taxonomy, on my system the terms appear as a list below the text box where you can add new values. Are you using a checklist-style display for your Att. Tags? Are you viewing them on the Media/Edit Media page or somewhere else?

Have you tried assigning values using the Media/Assistant Quick or Bulk Edit areas? The Media/Edit Media page?

Can you post a link to one or more images that aren’t working for you? I can try them on my system.

Thanks for any additional details you can provide.

    Hi David,

    Thanks for the response

    To answer your questions:-

    – Yes the Att. Tags are present in the list of terms
    – I am using the checklist style display, unfortunately I can’t assign the values manually because it’s for a client who wants Adobe Bridge keywords imported on upload (plus have the mapping rules executed on the existing 30,000 images in WP)
    – I was viewing the Att. Tags on the Att. Tags list page and seeing how many Attachments they had, and then looking at the individual images I uploaded to see what Att. Tags were added

However, one thing I completely forgot to mention is that I was testing this on localhost (via MAMP), I’ve since tested on the actual development site and it appears to be working so it must have been something related to my local server. Not sure how I missed that out but thanks for your help David

Thanks for your update with the good news that the problem is limited to your MAMP/localhost site.

You wrote “ unfortunately I can’t assign the values manually“. That was just a testing suggestion, not a real solution.

I am leaving this topic resolved, but please update it if you have any more problems or further questions regarding the import and assignment of Att. Tags values. Thanks for your interest in the plugin.
