showing article summary & comments

    Hi everyone. Noob here. A couple of questions:

    1. Would like WordPress to display only article summaries in a feed and checked the “Summaries” option in the Reading Settings. But the thing still displays the entire article. How to correct this?

    2. The only time Comments option appears if I click on the article title. This would be fine had only a summary of the article been displayed. In my case the entire article is displayed and no comments option unless I click on the article title.

    The ‘Summaries’ option only applies to feeds, not posts. Try changing the_content(whatever) to the_excerpt() in index.php.
