Hi. Had this critical error in my site health page, which is, most probably, also the cause for my site behaving unpredictably.
    The error:
Communicating with the WordPress servers is used to check for new versions, and to both install and update WordPress core, themes or plugins.

Error Your site is unable to reach WordPress.org at 198.143.164.251, and returned the error: cURL error 28: Operation timed out after 10000 milliseconds with 0 bytes received

Of course, I can’t install plugins, nor can I resolve my page issues due to this problem.
Can anyone suggest a solution to this error?

    Thanks!
    X

    Hello @ar2007

Communicating with the WordPress servers is used to check for new versions, and to both install and update WordPress core, themes or plugins.

If you cannot communicate with WordPress, it’s usually a DNS or hardware issue on your server, so your host will need to ensure the DNS records on the server and configured correctly and that the server can communicate back and forth with the WordPress.org servers. It may also be your server’s firewall preventing the connection – if that’s the case, your host will need to add a rule to allow traffic between your server and the wordpress.org servers.

    Okay, will let them know.

I actually did come across this page through another support thread, and the first thing on the list was to deactivate any 3rd party security plugin, which I did.
I didn’t notice any change, however after some hours (as of now) the error is gone.
So there’s a temporary resolve. However, I will contact GoDaddy because it could definitely also be an SSL error which they issued recently.

Thanks for all the info 🙂
    Regards
