• I installed WP 2.8 and II could not drag and drop widgets at widget admin page. Default widgets are not visible in the current widget boxes and available widgets are not active (unable to drag).

I found this is a sort of common problem with 2.8 version, so I upgraded to 3.0. However, I still cannot use widgets.

I tried all the solutions going around, such as 1) deactivate all plug-ins –> NOT WORKING, 2) click screen options –> NO RESPONSE, 3) delete cache
files of my browser –> NOT WORKING. All of them do not work.

I tried all of these steps at Chrome and IE.

Let me know how to solve this issue ASAP.

  • Hi,

    Check with these points:

    1. Generally, it is due to the plugins which creates this kind of problem….so you can either deactivate all plugins from database… And reactivate one-by-one to find culprit…or rename the Plugins directory via FTP.

    2. From wordpress admin area -> Appearance-> Widgets under Screen options, try the Enable Accessibility Mode.

    3. Delete or refresh the browser cache.

    Thanks,

    Shane G.
