An awful experience. Steer clear!
-
Never have I spent more time trying to make a plugin work without getting anywhere.
I spent time making a beautiful email. The editor is pretty good. But then came the time to actually send it to the people in my list (2 of my own personal emails).
At first I tried, but got the message that my account was still pending. So, I waited for a day and still, account pending. I contact support and eventually get an email saying it’s because I put in that I’m not asking for consent. Well, I’m not actually gonna use the plugin to send out newsletters, so the only person I needed consent from is myself and I allow me to send myself emails.
I waited for a reply which didn’t come. Logging into mailpoet, I could no longer see my plan. What the hell? They deleted it without telling me? Or is the whole thing bugging up? Nevermind, I create another which seems to get approved.
So after a while, everything seems in order. I set up the DNS config on my domain and that checks out alright. Time to send email. Does it work? No. I get test emails fine (a whole bunch by now), but nothing else. It seems to suggest that my DNS isn’t set up, but it is and mailpoet’s service also confirms that. So it basically just won’t work, even though I’ve tried and tried.
It looks slick, but the silent errors and mysterious ways it works with mailpoet’s services is utterly frustrating. The non-helpful support is frustrating. There are probably better ways to spend your time and better services too, so I’d say steer clear of this one.
