Customize Error Message / overall type: UNKNOWN_TYPE

    I have a simple newsletter sign up form with an email field and a submit button.
    Upon submitting with an empty email field I am prompted with the error

    overall type: UNKNOWN_TYPE server type: NO_SERVER_DATA heuristic type: UNKNOWN_TYPE label: Email parseable name: form_fields[email] section: form_fields[email]_0_1419-default field signature: 2221248723 form signature: 567455714625361208 form signature in host form: 567455714625361208 field frame token: 441353A8DC6B018B7376D708E4D96C89 form renderer id: 148 field renderer id: 1419

    in the front end.

    1. Why does this happen?
    2. What can I do to prevent it from happening?
    3. How can I change the text in the error message?
