This morning, my Home page was missing the “Edit with Elementor” option. I went to update Elementor but was trying to fix the problem too quickly and didn’t test it in Staging first. Once the Elementor plug-in updated, my site was clearly messed up – graphics missing, load errors, etc. I contacted Nexcess support and they told me to restore the latest backup (from yesterday), which I did. After that, the site completely crashed and I received this message:

Warning: Nexcess Managed Applications Platform Error: Unable to build Nexcess\MAPPS\Integrations\Maintenance: Unable to build Nexcess\MAPPS\Services\MigrationCleaner: Unable to build WP_Filesystem_Base: There was an error initializing the WP_Filesystem class: FTP hostname is required in /chroot/home/ac64fd72/bedallas90.org/html/wp-content/mu-plugins/0N5D1DGJ.nexcess-mapps.php on line 68 Notice: Constant nexcess\mapps\PLUGIN_VERSION already defined in /chroot/home/ac64fd72/bedallas90.org/html/wp-content/mu-plugins/nexcess-mapps.php on line 32 Notice: Constant nexcess\mapps\PLUGIN_URL already defined in /chroot/home/ac64fd72/bedallas90.org/html/wp-content/mu-plugins/nexcess-mapps.php on line 33 Notice: Constant nexcess\mapps\PLUGIN_DIR already defined in /chroot/home/ac64fd72/bedallas90.org/html/wp-content/mu-plugins/nexcess-mapps.php on line 34 Notice: Constant nexcess\mapps\VENDOR_DIR already defined in /chroot/home/ac64fd72/bedallas90.org/html/wp-content/mu-plugins/nexcess-mapps.php on line 35 Fatal error: Cannot redeclare wpstgGetCloneSettings() (previously declared in /chroot/home/ac64fd72/bedallas90.org/html/wp-content/mu-plugins/NSPDCGEE.wp-staging-optimizer.php:263) in /chroot/home/ac64fd72/bedallas90.org/html/wp-content/mu-plugins/wp-staging-optimizer.php on line 263 Notice: is_embed was called incorrectly. I managed to get in touch with support again, and they managed to get it back to the (still broken) status the page was at this morning. With the error message: Deprecated: _register_skins is deprecated since version 3.1.0! Use Elementor\Widget_Base::register_skins() instead. in /chroot/home/ac64fd72/bedallas90.org/html/wp-includes/functions.php on line 5316 Deprecated: _register_skins is deprecated since version 3.1.0! Use Elementor\Widget_Base::register_skins() instead. in /chroot/home/ac64fd72/bedallas90.org/html/wp-includes/functions.php on line 5316

Nexcess support then told me now my WP-config file was blank, and that malware may be on my site, but my domain disc space was over the limit so they couldn’t run the scan.

I’m unable to access anything, my site is totally down, I just took over this site and I have no idea what I’m doing, please help!

  • Hi,

First I want to apologize for this experience with our latest release.

I am happy to inform you that we have released version 3.6.1 for Elementor Core which contains a fix for the incompatibility issues reported in the last few days.

Please update your Elementor Core version to 3.6.1 and inform me if the change helps.

If this doesn’t resolve the issue please follow this workaround:

If you’re locked out of your WordPress dashboard, open the recovery email sent to you from WordPress. Click the link in that email to gain access to your site’s WordPress dashboard once again.

Just for the time being, it will be a good idea to deactivate all plugins (except Elementor), and then reactivate them one by one to find the culprit.

Once the plugin is found, inform us which plugin is incompatible so we can contact the developers. Keep this plugin deactivated for the time being.

Switch your website’s theme to Elementor’s Hello theme. If this solves the problem, keep your website on this theme for now, until this issue will be solved.

Alternatively, you can roll back your Elementor (Core) version from 3.6 to a previous one, which is still compatible with these plugins, such as 3.5.6. You can download a stable version from this link.

Reach out to your third-party plugin support to notify them of the importance of the issue.
