    Hi Support Team,

    we have been using the WP-Optimize caching plugin for several years without a single problem. Currently, we would like to use the full potential of this great plugin and instead of the Autoptimize plugin, we would like to activate the built-in Minify feature in WP-Optimize for JS/CSS minification. We have encountered a critical issue with CSS minification on one site that we can neither explain nor describe exactly. I’ll try below.

    1. Activate WP-Optimize cache -> everything OK
    2. Activate WP-Optimize JS minification -> everything OK
    3. Activate WP-Optimize CSS minification -> big problem…

    The load on our VPS server shoots up several times. Our entire VPS starts handling a huge number of requests related to this site on which we have activated CSS minification. The site’s access log is filling up with requests quickly.

    The server slowdown is so huge that we have to reboot the entire server and quickly disable CSS minification. Then the VPS runs fine again.

    Websites where this happens are not significantly different from our other sites where WP-Optimize Minification seems to work without issue. The original Autoptomize plugin also works on this site without issue.

    Does anyone have a similar experience? We are wondering how to solve this.

    Thanks for the advice if anyone would know what to try.

    Seems to be resolved.

    The problem seemed to be caused by an incorrect path to an unused CSS, which I kept including, however, and which thus failed to chain and kept retrying.
