Removing flags entirely?

    Hello, we have a site where the users want the flags removed entirely, and the language name to only be displayed in text. Is this possible at all? I have the Show flag images? box UNchecked but the flags are still displaying. Is it only possible to remove the flags with the pro version?

    For example, they want it to only display English and Spanish instead of the US,UK, or Canadian flag for English and the Spanish or Mexican flag for Spanish.

    Unfortunately, GTranslate is not on our approved list to use. So you are confirming that there is no way to remove flags in the Google Language Translator?

    Not sure what your approved list is and what logic do you use to add a plugin into your approved list. Both plugins are developed by me and the main difference is the look and feel.

    You can customize this plugin if you wish, but you have to modify the files to get what you want and future updates will be a pain.

    We have to put them through a review with our security department. Unfortunately, GTranslate has had too many recent vulnerabilities to be able to pass that review.

    What I was looking for was an answer if they can be removed out of the box, not with customization. I am a little confused as to why there is a box to check or uncheck to show flags if there really is no way to remove flags.

    Thanks for your answer, confirming that there is no way to remove the flags without plugin customization.

    Previous vulnerabilities cannot tell anything about the current status of the plugin.

    You can use the following shortcode and place individual labels, but if you are asking about the default toolbar, no it works with flags.
